Certified Master Saddler Jochen Schleese trained with Passier and in 1984 was certified as the youngest Master Saddler ever in Europe. In 1986 he was asked to be the Official Saddler for the World Dressage Championships, an honor he also held for the 2005 and 2007 World Cup Finals in Dressage and Jumping.

 

Together with the Ontario Ministry of Skills Development the company developed a three-year apprenticeship program to make saddlery a registered and certifiable trade. Schleese’s design and entrepreneurial skills since then have been recognized with many prestigious corporate and industry awards and the company has been profiled in major media including the Wall Street Journal and Discovery Channel

 Schleese received an international patent in 1996 for the AdapTree®  saddle tree design which allows the saddle to be adjusted to fit as the horse grows and develops. The innovative Schleese System – based on the science of saddle design and fit promoting equine back health – consists of a three step process of Saddle Fit Evaluation and Education, Innovative Saddle Solutions, and World Class Fitting Service. The System has evolved over the last 20 years from our close association with equine professionals in all fields - especially trainers, veterinarians, and judges – to improve the well-being, comfort and protection of the horse’s back.  

 

 The Schleese Saddlefit 4 Life® network includes a team of Certified Saddle Fit Technicians who have received the most comprehensive education in the industry, completing over 1400 hours of training and three levels of certification exams. Our clientele enjoys the benefit of personalized Saddle Fit Sessions in more than 250 service locations across North America.
